  In 2000, when Elle began her doctoral studies in Organizational Learning at the University of New Mexico, she became fascinated by an idea expressed by Merriam and Caffarella in their book Learning in Adulthood (Jossey-Bass 1999) when they asserted that "Wisdom is the pinnacle of adult thought."
This single sentence prompted Elle to research the nature of wisdom in nurses - a vulnerable workforce where demand outstrips the availability of nurses. Elle continues to research, write about, and speak about wisdom, in individuals, leaders in all industries, entrepreneurs, and couples, from all over the globe. Her wisdom research provides the foundation for including the concept of The Greater Good as an essential piece of the Renewal Coaching model. She founded Wisdom Out which is the source for ideas and strategies for people and organizations to be wiser in what matters most.
